The Refugio Bobcats overwhelmed the visiting Santa Maria Cougars football squad by a margin of 64-7 in Friday's league test.

The Bobcats now sport a 6-0 record. They take the field next when they travel to Freer for a 2A-1 Region IV District 16 test on Friday, October 24.

With the defeat, Santa Maria drops to 3-3 on the campaign. The Cougars host Freer (Freer, TX) to face the Buckaroos in a 2A-1 Region IV District 16 game on Friday, October 17. The Buckaroos enter the game with a record of 5-1. Freer won 48-6 in their recent league game against Kaufer (Riviera, TX)
