Rains Wildcats (Emory, TX) fans went home in high spirits Friday as they saw their football team tip the visiting Mount Vernon Tigers (Mount Vernon, TX), 42-35 in a league battle.

With the win, Rains improves its record to 2-4 on the season. The Wildcats travel to Winnsboro (Winnsboro, TX) to play the Raiders in a 3A-1 Region II District 7 battle on Friday, October 18. The Raiders go into the battle with a record of 5-0. Winnsboro won 70-7 in their recent league bout against Eustace (Eustace, TX)
