The Mecklenburg County Phoenix football team (Baskerville, VA), was beaten 22-6 in Friday's non-league challenge with the host Sussex Central Tigers (Sussex, VA)

The Tigers (4-3) will now prepare for their challenge against Franklin (Franklin, VA). The Broncos come into the Tri-Rivers challenge with a 4-3 record. In their last challenge, Franklin was beaten by Brunswick (Lawrenceville, VA), 46-14, in a league challenge.
