The crowd at Friday's league contest between the Melissa Cardinals (Melissa, TX) and the host Independence Knights (Frisco, TX), witnessed Melissa's football squad wallop Independence by a tally of 68-0.

The Cardinals (5-1) will now prepare for their bout against Emerson (McKinney, TX). The Mavericks go into the 5A-2 Region I District 4 bout with a 4-4 record. In their last bout, Emerson was crushed by Lovejoy (Lucas, TX), 39-38, in a league bout.

The Knights now own a 0-8 record. They play next when they travel to Emerson for a 5A-2 Region I District 4 bout on Thursday, October 30.
