Texas High School Football - Mission smashes Rio Grande City

October 17, 2025: Mission, TX 78572

The Mission Eagles (Mission, TX) football trounced the visiting Rio Grande City Rattlers (Rio Grande City, TX), 49-14 in Friday's league outing.

The Eagles now sport a 2-5 record. They put it on the line next when they travel to Rowe for a 5A-1 Region IV District 16 game on Friday, October 24. Mission will battle a Warriors team coming off a 16-0 league loss to Vela (Edinburg, TX). The Warriors record now stands at 4-3.

The Rattlers (0-7) will now prepare for their game against McAllen (McAllen, TX). The Bulldogs enter the 5A-1 Region IV District 16 game with a 4-3 record. In their last game, McAllen smashed Palmview (La Joya, TX), 52-0, in a league bout.
