Newburgh Free Academy Goldbacks (Newburgh, NY) followers went home pleased Saturday as they saw their football team gain a win over the host Proctor Raiders (Utica, NY), 33-6 in a non-league battle.

With the win, Newburgh Free Academy advances its record to 5-2 on the season. The Goldbacks host Pine Bush (Pine Bush, NY) to confront the Bushmen in a Section 9 AA match on Friday, October 24. The Bushmen come into the match with a record of 2-5. Pine Bush lost 38-6 in their recent league match against Monroe-Woodbury (Central Valley, NY)

Coming up next, the Raiders confront the Baldwinsville Bees (Baldwinsville, NY) in a Section 3 AA 1 match, on Saturday, October 25. Proctor will attempt to upgrade on its 2-5 season record. The Bees come into the match with a 0-7 record after their 41-13 league loss to Cicero-North Syracuse (Cicero, NY).
