The North Providence Cougars edged the visiting Lincoln Lions football team by a score of 14-8 in Friday's non-league challenge.

The Cougars now sport a 4-2 record. They take the field next when they host Mt. Hope for a Division III test on Thursday, October 30. North Providence will clash with a Huskies squad coming off a 24-6 league win over Cranston East (Cranston, RI). The Huskies record now stands at 5-2.

With the defeat, Lincoln drops to 2-5 on the campaign. The Lions travel to South Kingstown (Wakefield, RI) to clash with the Rebels in a Division II test on Thursday, October 30. The Rebels come into the test with a record of 6-2. South Kingstown won 47-20 in their recent league test against Tolman (Pawtucket, RI)
