North Carolina High School Football - East Carteret smashes Southside

The East Carteret Mariners (Beaufort, NC) football trounced the host Southside Seahawks (Chocowinity, NC), 49-13 in Friday's league outing.

The Mariners now sport a 2-4 record. They take the field next when they travel to Lejeune for a Coastal Plains 1A/2A outing on Friday, October 10. East Carteret will clash with a Devilpups squad coming off a 48-0 league loss to Northside - Pinetown (Pinetown, NC). The Devilpups record now stands at 0-6.

With the defeat, Southside drops to 1-5 on the campaign. The Seahawks travel to Jones (Trenton, NC) to battle the Trojans in a Coastal Plains 1A/2A contest on Friday, October 10. The Trojans enter the contest with a record of 0-6. Jones lost 33-8 in their recent league contest against Pamlico County (Bayboro, NC)
