In Friday's league match, the host Asheville Cougars football squad scored a close 28-21 victory over the T.C. Roberson Rams.

In their next game, the Cougars clash with the McDowell Titans (Marion, NC) in a 3A/4A West Conference 53 match, on Friday, October 14. Asheville will attempt to move on its 5-2 season record. The Titans enter the match with a 5-2 record after their 21-16 league win over Enka (Enka, NC).
