In Friday's non-league match, the visiting Weddington Warriors football squad scored a good 27-7 victory over the Porter Ridge Pirates.

In their next game, the Warriors clash with the Sun Valley Spartans (Monroe, NC) in a 4A West Conference 58 match, on Friday, October 15. Weddington will attempt to move on its 6-1 season record. The Spartans enter the match with a 2-5 record after their 42-14 league win over Piedmont (Monroe, NC).

The Pirates (3-2) will now prepare for their match against Cuthbertson (Waxhaw, NC). The Cavaliers enter the 4A West Conference 58 match with a 3-4 record. In their last match, Cuthbertson dropped by Marvin Ridge (Waxhaw, NC), 28-14, in a league match.
