In Saturday's non-league battle, the host Athens Golden Eagles volleyball team scored a 2-0 triumph over the Briarwood Christian Lions.

The Golden Eagles (26-12) will now prepare for their battle against Ardmore (Ardmore, AL). The Tigers come into the non-league battle with a 10-13 record. In their last battle, Ardmore achieved victory over Mae Jemison (Huntsville, AL), 3-0, in a league battle.
