South Pontotoc Cougars (Pontotoc, MS) backers were pleased Friday as they saw their basketball squad bounce the visiting Bruce Trojans (Bruce, MS), 68-45 in a non-league bout.

With the victory, South Pontotoc upgrades its record to 3-1 on the campaign. The Cougars travel to Houlka (Houlka, MS) to play the Wildcats in a non-league bout on Tuesday, November 16. The Wildcats come into the bout with a record of 4-2. Houlka won 71-63 in their recent non-league bout against Hickory Flat (Hickory Flat, MS)

Next up, the Trojans play the Coffeeville Pirates (Coffeeville, MS) in a non-league bout, on Tuesday, November 16. Bruce will attempt to upgrade on its 0-3 season record. The Pirates come into the bout with a 2-1 record after their 68-43 non-league win over Calhoun City (Calhoun City, MS).
