Canyon Springs Pioneers (North Las Vegas, NV) backers were pleased Saturday as they saw their basketball squad hold off the visiting Chaparral Cowboys (Las Vegas, NV), 45-41 in a non-league bout.

With the victory, Canyon Springs upgrades its record to 1-0 on the campaign. The Pioneers host Somerset Academy Losee (North Las Vegas, NV) to play the Lions in a non-league bout on Thursday, November 30. The Lions come into the bout with a record of 0-0.

Next up, the Cowboys play the Desert Pines Jaguars (Las Vegas, NV) in a non-league bout, on Monday, November 27. Chaparral will attempt to upgrade on its 0-1 season record.
