California High School Basketball - Murrieta Valley overwhelms Temecula Prep
November 26, 2025: Winchester, CA 92596 The Murrieta Valley Nighthawks basketball team scored 57 points and limited the host Temecula Prep Patriots to 11 in the Nighthawks non-league triumph on Wednesday.
The Nighthawks now possess a 3-4 record. They play next when they travel to Claremont for a non-league outing on Friday, November 28. Murrieta Valley will clash with a Wolfpack squad coming off a 62-40 non-league loss to St. Anthony (Long Beach, CA). The Wolfpack record now stands at 0-3.
The Patriots (4-2) will now prepare for their outing against Arrowhead Christian (Redlands, CA). The Eagles come into the non-league outing with a 4-0 record. In their last outing, Arrowhead Christian routed Hesperia Christian (Hesperia, CA), 45-31, in a non-league bout.
First Quarter
Final game of the 3 day Linfield Christian Girls Basketball tournament. Temecula Prep, still with out many players on roster due to injuries, put the same 8 players on the court. Murrieta Valley did outscore Temecula Prep in the first quarter 25-2, with Bailey Litt scoring the teams sole basket.
Second Quarter
Bailey Litt added a freethrow and Samiyah Antoine began taking the ball to the hoop trying to create offense. Samiyah scored 2 points in the quarter. Temecula Prep did better with defense, but still gave up 19 points.
Third Quarter
Halftime adjustments showed an encouraging shift in the teams mettle. The defense continued to improve allowing only 13 3rd quarter points. The offense still struggled only adding a single basket from Bailey Litt.
Fourth Quarter
Temecula Prep shut down Murrieta Valley's reserves in the 4th quarter, not allowing a single basket. Temecula Prep scored 4 points, giving their end game total to 11. Samiyah Antoine stayed aggressive, giving the patriots many opportunities to dig into Murrieta Valleys lead. Makayla Martin started the game at the point guard for the first time in the season and showed that she was up to the task by the time the fourth quarter arrived, being aggressive and getting to the free throw line multiple times. Bailey added another free throw as well as Morgan Meyer adding a free throw.
