McNairy Central Bobcats (Selmer, TN) backers were pleased Saturday as they saw their basketball squad hold off the host Tishomingo County Braves (Iuka, MS), 77-70 in a non-league test.

The Bobcats (5-2) will now prepare for their test against Jackson Central Merry (Jackson, TN). The Cougars go into the non-league test with a 0-1 record. In their last test, Jackson Central Merry was tipped by Munford (Munford, TN), 64-49, in a non-league test.

The Braves now own a 4-4 record. They play next when they host Itawamba Agricultural for a 4A Region 1 test on Friday, January 7.
