The Midland Trail Patriots (Hico, WV) basketball knocked off the visiting Independence Patriots (Coal City, WV), 67-52 in Friday's league test.

The Patriots (2-1) will now prepare for their test against River View (Bradshaw, WV). The Raiders go into the non-league test with a 1-0 record.

The Patriots now own a 0-3 record. They play next when they host Nicholas County for a Coalfield AA test on Tuesday, December 20. Independence will encounter a Grizzlies squad coming off a 74-49 non-league loss to Nitro (Nitro, WV). The Grizzlies record now stands at 1-2.
