Arkansas High School Basketball - Catholic nudges Newport
December 17, 2022: Newport, AR 72112 Catholic Rockets (Little Rock, AR) backers were in high spirits Saturday as they witnessed their basketball squad tip the host Newport Greyhounds (Newport, AR), 63-61 in a non-league bout.
With the win, Catholic upgrades its record to 4-3 on the season. The Rockets host Vilonia (Vilonia, AR) to clash with the Eagles in a 5A Central bout on Wednesday, January 4. The Eagles go into the bout with a record of 9-3. Vilonia lost 53-51 in their recent league bout against Maumelle (Maumelle, AR)
Next up, the Greyhounds clash with the Salem Greyhounds (Salem, AR) in a 3A Region 2 bout, on Wednesday, January 4. Newport will attempt to upgrade on its 4-5 season record. The Greyhounds go into the bout with a 3-1 record after their 51-50 league loss to Melbourne (Melbourne, AR).
