Iowa High School Basketball - St. Mary's overwhelms Akron-Westfield
December 17, 2024: Akron, IA 51001 The St. Mary's Hawks basketball team scored 49 points and limited the host Akron-Westfield Westerners to 27 in the Hawks league triumph on Tuesday.
The Hawks now have a 4-0 record. They play next when they host West Lyon for a non-league game on Thursday, December 19. St. Mary's will confront a Wildcats team coming off a 51-50 league loss to Sioux Center (Sioux Center, IA). The Wildcats record now stands at 5-1.
With the loss, Akron-Westfield falls to 2-5 on the campaign. The Westerners host Trinity Christian (Hull, IA) to confront the Tigers in a War Eagle game on Friday, December 20.
