Texas High School Basketball - Nixon-Smiley tops Karnes City
December 2, 2022: Karnes City, TX 78118 Nixon-Smiley Mustangs (Nixon, TX) backers were pleased Friday as they saw their basketball squad knock off the host Karnes City Badgers (Karnes City, TX), 54-38 in a non-league bout.
With the victory, Nixon-Smiley upgrades its record to 4-0 on the campaign. The Mustangs travel to La Vernia (La Vernia, TX) to play the Bears in a non-league bout on Saturday, December 3. The Bears come into the bout with a record of 8-1. La Vernia won 75-17 in their recent non-league bout against Brooks Academy of Science & Engineering (San Antonio, TX)
Next up, the Badgers play the Luling Eagles (Luling, TX) in a non-league bout, on Tuesday, December 6. Karnes City will attempt to upgrade on its 5-4 season record. The Eagles come into the bout with a 6-3 record after their 66-61 non-league win over Jourdanton (Jourdanton, TX).
