The Mathis Pirates (Mathis, TX) basketball edged the host Premont Cowboys (Premont, TX), 45-41 in Tuesday's non-league bout.

The Pirates now possess a 4-7 record. They play next when they host Ingleside for a non-league bout on Friday, December 5. Mathis will play a Mustangs team coming off a 18-0 non-league loss to Woodsboro (Woodsboro, TX). The Mustangs record now stands at 4-8.
