North Carolina High School Basketball - Independence nips Clover

December 22, 2023: Charlotte, NC 28227

Fans at Friday's non-league challenge between the Independence Patriots (Charlotte, NC) and the visiting Clover Blue Eagles (Clover, SC), saw Independence's basketball squad hold off Clover by a tally of 51-47.

With the victory, Independence improves its record to 8-3 on the campaign. The Patriots travel to Fort Mill (Fort Mill, SC) to play the Yellow Jackets in a non-league challenge on Thursday, December 28. The Yellow Jackets come into the challenge with a record of 6-5. Fort Mill lost 69-50 in their recent non-league challenge against Science Hill (Johnson City, TN)

Next up, the Blue Eagles play the Greenville Hurricanes Hurricanes (Greenville, SC) in a non-league challenge, on Wednesday, December 27. Clover will attempt to improve on its 3-6 season record. The Hurricanes come into the challenge with a 8-5 record after their 40-34 non-league win over Southside Christian (Simpsonville, SC).
