In Monday's non-league contest, the host Marion County Red Raiders basketball team scored a good 74-54 triumph over the Shannon Red Raiders.

The Red Raiders (8-2) will now prepare for their contest against Northeast Lauderdale (Meridian, MS). The Trojans go into the non-league match with a 8-4 record. In their last match, Northeast Lauderdale was dropped by Kemper County (DeKalb, MS), 49-41, in a non-league match.

The Red Raiders now sport a 5-10 record. They put it on the line next when they host Mooreville for a 4A Region 2 match on Tuesday, January 6.
