Fans at Monday's non-league challenge between the Shaw Hawks (Shaw, MS) and the host Leland Cubs (Leland, MS), saw Shaw's basketball squad knock off Leland by a tally of 63-49.

With the victory, Shaw improves its record to 8-5 on the campaign. The Hawks travel to Brooks (Benoit, MS) to play the Tigers in a non-league challenge on Saturday, December 28. The Tigers come into the challenge with a record of 2-3. Brooks lost 65-53 in their recent non-league challenge against Cleveland Central (Cleveland, MS)

Next up, the Cubs play the Greenville Christian Saints (Greenville, MS) in a non-league challenge, on Friday, January 10. Leland will attempt to improve on its 1-11 season record.
