December 26, 2024: Geraldine, AL 35974 Russell County Lakers (Russell Springs, KY) supporters left the game happy Thursday as they witnessed their basketball squad hold off the host Geraldine Bulldogs (Geraldine, AL), 62-57 in a non-league match.
With the victory, Russell County advances its record to 5-2 on the year. The Lakers travel to Berea (Berea, KY) to face the Pirates in a non-league match on Saturday, December 28. The Pirates enter the match with a record of 1-4. Berea won 59-31 in their recent non-league match against Jackson City (Jackson, KY)
The Bulldogs now own a 7-6 record. They put it on the line next when they travel to Floyd Central for a non-league match on Friday, December 27. Geraldine will face a Jaguars squad coming off a 77-53 non-league loss to Gatlinburg-Pittman (Gatlinburg, TN). The Jaguars record now stands at 4-4.
