In Thursday's non-league contest, the host North Kingstown Skippers ice hockey team scored a close 5-2 victory over the East Greenwich Avengers.

The Skippers (2-0) will now prepare for their contest against Ponaganset (North Scituate, RI). The Chieftains go into the non-league contest with a 3-2 record. In their last contest, Ponaganset edged Cumberland (Cumberland, RI), 8-3, in a non-league contest.
