The Youngker Roughriders (Buckeye, AZ) basketball were winner over the host Highland Prep Honey Badgers (Surprise, AZ), 38-30 in Friday's non-league bout.

The Roughriders now possess a 5-2 record. They play next when they travel to Estrella Foothills for a non-league bout on Thursday, January 2. Youngker will play a Wolves team coming off a 100-3 non-league win over Arcadia (Phoenix, AZ). The Wolves record now stands at 6-0.

With the loss, Highland Prep falls to 5-3 on the campaign. The Honey badgers travel to Chino Valley (Chino Valley, AZ) to confront the Cougars in a 3A West game on Tuesday, January 7.
