First Quarter
Feeling out opening quarter. Defense & rotations tight with Columbus, but team looked out of sorts.
Second Quarter
Bombs away. Campbell, Wol, Jackson (3), and Roberts (2) combined for 7 three's in the quarter. Defensive rotations slowed down for the Explorers, accuracy from outside the 3-line for Moravian was eerie.
Third Quarter
If we don't win this quarter we don't get back in this game was the reality of it. Moravian answered all of the Columbus runs and the quarter ended with the uncustomary cloud of discouragement. Columbus lost the quarter 15-9.
Fourth Quarter
The pro Moravian North Carolina giddy clowns announcing the game were talking about "this is the quarter where the Moravian lead (differential) goes from 20 to 50 for Moravian, and the 2 clowns explained how they (Moravian coach) gets criticized (as he should) for their tendency to never let the foot off the gas and just try to demoralize the other team. If he's doing it by emptying his bench I'm fine with it, but I thought to myself, "they ain't demoralizing anyone", Columbus was just flat from the start, and they opened the fourth with an understanding of the herculean effort required to climb back into the game, & they did have the score down 13 with the ball, but only won the quarter by 2 (13-11), and left with the confident resolve that if they played this team again they would beat them, and the consensus among the basketball literarti in Explorer Nation is that indeed, we would beat them the 2nd time around, and hopefully we can make that happen next year and avenge this loss.
