New Jersey High School Basketball - Union City can't hold off St. Rose
December 28, 2023: Union City, NJ 07087 The St. Rose Purple Roses basketball team scored 52 points and restricted the host Union City Soaring Eagles to 47 in the Purple Roses non-league victory on Thursday.
The Purple Roses now sport a 5-2 record. They put it on the line next when they host Rumson-Fair Haven for a non-league contest on Tuesday, January 2. St. Rose will battle a Bulldogs team coming off a 59-46 non-league win over Manchester Township (Lakehurst, NJ). The Bulldogs record now stands at 5-2.
The Soaring Eagles (2-4) will now prepare for their contest against Lincoln (Jersey City, NJ). The Lions come into the Hudson County - American contest with a 2-3 record. In their last contest, Lincoln edged Snyder (Jersey City, NJ), 48-44, in a non-league contest.
