The Shepard Astros basketball team scored 35 points and limited the visiting Simeon Wolverines to 30 in the Astros non-league triumph on Saturday.

The Astros now have a 5-3 record. They play next when they travel to Proviso East for a non-league game on Wednesday, January 8. Shepard will confront a Pirates team coming off a 30-27 non-league win over Joliet Central (Joliet, IL). The Pirates record now stands at 8-6.

With the loss, Simeon falls to 7-8 on the campaign. The Wolverines travel to Amundsen (Chicago, IL) to confront the Vikings in a Chicago Public - Red Shield game on Friday, January 10. The Vikings go into the game with a record of 6-11.
