Washington County Commanders (Springfield, KY) backers were in high spirits Friday as they witnessed their basketball squad thwart the visiting Lafayette Generals (Lexington, KY), 61-53 in a non-league bout.

With the win, Washington County upgrades its record to 8-5 on the season. The Commanders travel to Thomas Nelson (Bardstown, KY) to clash with the Generals in a District 19 bout on Friday, January 6. The Generals go into the bout with a record of 0-8.

Next up, the Generals clash with the Tates Creek Commodores (Lexington, KY) in a District 43 bout, on Friday, January 6. Lafayette will attempt to upgrade on its 3-10 season record.
