York Dukes (York, NE) backers were pleased Friday as they saw their basketball squad knock off the host Amherst Broncos (Amherst, NE), 53-34 in a non-league bout.

With the victory, York upgrades its record to 7-1 on the campaign. The Dukes travel to Schuyler (Schuyler, NE) to play the Warriors in a non-league bout on Tuesday, January 3. The Warriors come into the bout with a record of 1-7. Schuyler lost 49-28 in their recent non-league bout against Twin River (Genoa, NE)

Next up, the Broncos play the Wood River Eagles (Wood River, NE) in a C2 District 9 bout, on Tuesday, January 3. Amherst will attempt to upgrade on its 6-3 season record. The Eagles come into the bout with a 4-4 record after their 59-38 non-league loss to Superior (Superior, NE).
