In Tuesday's non-league contest, the visiting Bellaire Cardinals basketball squad scored a tight 51-46 victory over the Sam Rayburn Texans.

With the victory, Bellaire advances its record to 15-6 on the year. The Cardinals host Cesar E. Chavez (Houston, TX) to face the Lobos in a 6A Region III District 18 match on Wednesday, January 7. The Lobos enter the match with a record of 1-4. Cesar E. Chavez lost 38-21 in their recent non-league match against Milby (Houston, TX)

The Texans now own a 4-12 record. They put it on the line next when they host Manvel for a 6A Region III District 22 match on Saturday, January 3. Sam Rayburn will face a Mavericks team coming off a 44-23 non-league win over Klein Collins (Spring, TX). The Mavericks record now stands at 22-3.
