Texas High School Basketball - East Central nips Steele
December 31, 2021: Cibolo, TX 78108 Fans at Friday's league challenge between the East Central Hornets (San Antonio, TX) and the host Steele Knights (Cibolo, TX), saw East Central's basketball squad hold off Steele by a count of 70-67.
With the victory, East Central upgrades its record to 11-9 on the campaign. The Hornets host South San Antonio (San Antonio, TX) to play the Bobcats in a 6A Region IV District 27 challenge on Tuesday, January 4. The Bobcats come into the challenge with a record of 6-11. South San Antonio lost 65-38 in their recent league challenge against Clemens (Schertz, TX)
Next up, the Knights play the Wagner Thunderbirds (San Antonio, TX) in a 6A Region IV District 27 challenge, on Tuesday, January 4. Steele will attempt to upgrade on its 10-10 season record. The Thunderbirds come into the challenge with a 7-6 record after their 81-58 league win over Smithson Valley (Spring Branch, TX).
