In Wednesday's non-league match, the host Lee County Yellow Jackets basketball team scored a tight 38-31 triumph over the Western Harnett Eagles.

In their next game, the Yellow Jackets meet the Union Pines Vikings (Cameron, NC) in a 3A/4A Sandhills match, on Tuesday, December 12. Lee County will attempt to move on its 2-0 season record. The Vikings enter the match with a 4-4 record after their 48-31 non-league loss to South Johnston (Four Oaks, NC).

With the defeat, Western Harnett moves to 3-4 on the year. The Eagles host Pine Forest (Fayetteville, NC) to meet the Trojans in a 3A/4A All-American match on Friday, December 8.
