Iowa High School Basketball - Hempstead holds off Waterloo East
February 11, 2022: Waterloo, IA 50703 Fans at Friday's league challenge between the Hempstead Mustangs (Dubuque, IA) and the host Waterloo East Trojans (Waterloo, IA), saw Hempstead's basketball squad hold off Waterloo East by a tally of 62-58.
With the victory, Hempstead improves its record to 9-8 on the campaign. The Mustangs travel to Cedar Falls (Cedar Falls, IA) to confront the Tigers in a Mississippi Valley challenge on Tuesday, February 15. The Tigers come into the challenge with a record of 15-2.
Next up, the Trojans confront the Liberty Lightning (North Liberty, IA) in a Mississippi Valley challenge, on Saturday, February 12. Waterloo East will attempt to improve on its 3-14 season record. The Lightning come into the challenge with a 9-9 record after their 57-47 league loss to Washington (Cedar Rapids, IA).
