The Alexander Central Cougars basketball team scored 70 points and limited the visiting St. Stephens Indians to 60 in the Cougars league triumph on Wednesday.

The Cougars now possess a 13-9 record. They play next when they travel to South Caldwell for a Northwestern 6A/7A game on Friday, February 13. Alexander Central will confront a Spartans team coming off a 65-36 league win over McDowell (Marion, NC). The Spartans record now stands at 15-7.

With the loss, St. Stephens moves to 10-13 on the campaign. The Indians travel to Watauga (Boone, NC) to play the Pioneers in a Northwestern 6A/7A bout on Friday, February 13. The Pioneers go into the bout with a record of 14-7. Watauga won 75-59 in their recent league bout against Freedom (Morganton, NC)
