North Carolina High School Basketball - Pinecrest toppled by Overhills

February 16, 2026: Spring Lake, NC 28390

Overhills Jaguars (Spring Lake, NC) backers went home thrilled Monday as they saw their basketball team thwart the visiting Pinecrest Patriots (Southern Pines, NC), 61-49 in a league contest.

The Jaguars (17-6) will now prepare for their match against Hoke County (Raeford, NC). The Bucks enter the Mid-South 7A/8A match with a 9-12 record. In their last match, Hoke County was dropped by Pinecrest (Southern Pines, NC), 59-42, in a league match.

The Patriots now sport a 13-9 record. They put it on the line next when they travel to Hoke County for a Mid-South 7A/8A match on Wednesday, February 18. Pinecrest will face a Bucks squad coming off a 43-35 league win over Pine Forest (Fayetteville, NC). The Bucks record now stands at 9-11.
