New Mexico High School Basketball - Volcano Vista overwhelms Rio Rancho
February 2, 2024: Albuquerque, NM 87114 Fans at Friday's league challenge between the Volcano Vista Hawks (Albuquerque, NM) and the visiting Rio Rancho Rams (Rio Rancho, NM), saw Volcano Vista's basketball squad wallop Rio Rancho by a tally of 92-54.
With the victory, Volcano Vista improves its record to 20-1 on the campaign. The Hawks travel to Atrisco Heritage Academy (Albuquerque, NM) to confront the Jaguars in a 5A District 1 challenge on Tuesday, February 6. The Jaguars come into the challenge with a record of 17-4. Atrisco Heritage Academy won 102-98 in their recent league challenge against Cleveland (Rio Rancho, NM)
Next up, the Rams confront the Cleveland Storm (Rio Rancho, NM) in a 5A District 1 challenge, on Tuesday, February 6. Rio Rancho will attempt to improve on its 12-9 season record. The Storm come into the challenge with a 16-5 record after their 93-57 league win over Cibola (Albuquerque, NM).
