In Friday's non-league match, the host East Chicago Central Cardinals basketball team scored a decisive 84-57 triumph over the Griffith Panthers.

In their next game, the Cardinals meet the Lake Central Indians (St. John, IN) in a non-league match, on Wednesday, March 1. East Chicago Central will attempt to move on its 12-9 season record. The Indians enter the match with a 15-9 record after their 75-46 non-league win over McCutcheon (Lafayette, IN).
