The West Mecklenburg Hawks toppled the host Chapel Hill Tigers basketball team by a tally of 49-39 in Thursday's non-league bout.

The Hawks now possess a 18-9 record. They play next when they travel to Marvin Ridge for a non-league bout on Saturday, February 28. West Mecklenburg will play a Mavericks team coming off a 64-48 non-league win over West Cabarrus (Concord, NC). The Mavericks record now stands at 21-5.

With the loss, Chapel Hill falls to 17-10 on the campaign.
