The crowd at Thursday's non-league challenge between the Watauga Pioneers (Boone, NC) and the host Ragsdale Tigers (Jamestown, NC), observed Watauga's basketball team edge Ragsdale by a score of 43-36.

The Pioneers (15-12) will now prepare for their challenge against Alexander Central (Taylorsville, NC). The Cougars come into the non-league challenge with a 23-3 record. In their last battle, Alexander Central tipped Piedmont (Monroe, NC), 69-44, in a non-league battle.

The Tigers now own a 17-9 record.
