In Wednesday's non-league contest, the visiting Vance Charter Knights basketball team scored a close 66-62 win over the Franklin Academy Patriots.

The Knights (12-5) will now prepare for their contest against Excelsior Classical Academy (Durham, NC). The Flying Lions come into the 1A Triangle North contest with a 11-9 record. In their last contest, Excelsior Classical Academy was tipped by Voyager Academy (Durham, NC), 83-59, in a league contest.

In their next game, the Patriots battle the Research Triangle Raptors (Research Triangle Park, NC) in a 1A/2A Super Six contest, on Friday, February 7. Franklin Academy will attempt to better on its 15-8 season record. The Raptors come into the contest with a 5-15 record after their 41-30 league loss to Raleigh Charter (Raleigh, NC).
