In Thursday's league contest, the visiting Jackson Day Mariners basketball team scored a big 62-17 win over the Piedmont Community Charter Patriots.

The Mariners (18-4) will now prepare for their contest against Thomas Jefferson Classical Academy (Mooresboro, NC). The Gryphons come into the Catawba River 1A/2A/3A contest with a 16-4 record.
