Illinois High School Basketball - Lena-Winslow holds off Eastland
February 7, 2022: Lena, IL 61048 Fans at Monday's non-league challenge between the Lena-Winslow Panthers (Lena, IL) and the visiting Eastland Cougars (Lanark, IL), saw Lena-Winslow's basketball squad hold off Eastland by a tally of 46-42.
With the victory, Lena-Winslow improves its record to 17-10 on the campaign. The Panthers travel to Pearl City (Pearl City, IL) to confront the Wolves in a Northwest Upstate Illini - North challenge on Tuesday, February 8. The Wolves come into the challenge with a record of 10-17. Pearl City won 42-28 in their recent league challenge against Durand (Durand, IL)
Next up, the Cougars confront the Fulton Steamers (Fulton, IL) in a Northwest Upstate Illini - South challenge, on Tuesday, February 8. Eastland will attempt to improve on its 14-12 season record. The Steamers come into the challenge with a 3-14 record after their 31-27 league loss to Ashton-Franklin Center (Ashton, IL).
