The Bassett Bengals basketball team scored 57 points and restricted the visiting George Washington Eagles to 55 in the Bengals league victory on Tuesday.

The Bengals now sport a 13-9 record. They put it on the line next when they host Patrick County for a Piedmont contest on Friday, February 10. Bassett will battle a Cougars team coming off a 76-73 non-league loss to Floyd County (Floyd, VA). The Cougars record now stands at 10-12.

The Eagles (14-8) will now prepare for their contest against Heritage (Lynchburg, VA). The Pioneers come into the non-league contest with a 10-8 record. In their last contest, Heritage edged Liberty (Bedford, VA), 67-35, in a league contest.
