The Foard Tigers basketball team (Newton, NC), was nudged 56-50 in Tuesday's league battle with the visiting Hickory Red Tornadoes (Hickory, NC)

The Red Tornadoes now possess a 14-6 record. They put it on the line next when they host St. Stephens for a 3A Conference 51 battle on Wednesday, February 9. Hickory will battle a Indians team coming off a 50-36 league win over Statesville (Statesville, NC). The Indians record now stands at 13-9.

The Tigers (13-9) will now prepare for their battle against Statesville (Statesville, NC). The Greyhounds come into the 3A Conference 51 battle with a 4-16 record. In their last battle, Statesville was nudged by St. Stephens (Hickory, NC), 50-36, in a league battle.
