Fans at Wednesday's non-league challenge between the Pope County Pirates (Golconda, IL) and the host Century Centurions (Ullin, IL), saw Pope County's basketball squad knock off Century by a count of 71-51.

With the victory, Pope County upgrades its record to 18-9 on the campaign. The Pirates travel to Dongola (Dongola, IL) to play the Demons in a non-league challenge on Thursday, February 9. The Demons come into the challenge with a record of 0-20.

Next up, the Centurions encounter the Shawnee Redskins (Wolf Lake, IL) in a South Egyptian test, on Friday, February 10. Century will attempt to advance on its 6-19 season record. The Redskins go into the test with a 5-13 record after their 64-37 league loss to Agape Christian (Energy, IL).
