Pinecrest Patriots (Southern Pines, NC) fans exited the stadium satisfied Tuesday as they witnessed their softball team run past the visiting Seventy-First Falcons (Fayetteville, NC), 17-5 in a non-league match.

The Patriots (4-1) will now prepare for their match against Lee County (Sanford, NC). The Yellow Jackets come into the non-league match with a 2-5 record. In their last match, Lee County notched a victory over Western Harnett (Lillington, NC), 6-1, in a league match.

Next up, the Falcons play the Red Springs Red Devils (Red Springs, NC) in a non-league game, on Friday, March 20. Seventy-First will attempt to upgrade on its 0-6 season record. The Red Devils enter the game with a 4-1 record after their 19-2 non-league win over Douglas Byrd (Fayetteville, NC).
