It came down to the wire on Saturday, with Glendora taking victory on a dramatic walk-off double in late innings that sealed their victory over Long Beach Poly. The game was tied at three with Glendora batting in the bottom of the eighth when Brett Hunt doubled on a 1-1 count, scoring one run.
The Tartans evened things up at three in the bottom of the seventh inning on a fielders choice by Ethan Tapia that scored one run for Glendora.
Hunt got the win for the Freshmen as he didn’t allow any runs on zero hits over two innings, striking out two and walking zero. Joe Gilkeson, Griffin Grable, and Dustin Jones all put in work in relief out of the bullpen, steering their team towards the victory.
J.J. Nolan started the game for Glendora. He surrendered one run on three hits over one inning, striking out two and walking one.
Tapia, Hunt, Hunter Mezich, Grable, Evan Ellis, and Ian Dover each managed one hit to lead Glendora.
