Maine High School Lacrosse - South Portland held off by Lake Region
April 15, 2023: Naples, ME 04055 Lake Region Lakers (Naples, ME) boosters exited the stadium content Saturday as they witnessed their lacrosse squad nip the visiting South Portland Red Riots (South Portland, ME), 9-8 in a non-league battle.
The Lakers now own a 1-0 record. They take the field next when they host Cheverus for a non-league battle on Tuesday, April 18. Lake Region will clash with a Stags squad coming off a 18-15 non-league win over Marshwood (South Berwick, ME). The Stags record now stands at 2-0.
In their next game, the Red Riots clash with the Sanford Spartans (Sanford, ME) in a Class A South battle, on Thursday, April 20. South Portland will attempt to advance on its 0-1 season record.
